We support and are connected to a number of worldwide organisations and individuals:
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives. (Taken from the Fairtrade web site FAQ’s)
We support this organisation with regular sales of Fairtrade products after our Church services (details can be found on the diary page) and by serving only Fairtrade products at any events. We are also committed to raising awareness of Fairtrade so please take some time to look at their web site at: http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/en
