All about the youth community in our church Stop Press We are looking to start a new Rock Solid
Group. At the URC on the last Sunday of every month, after the service (approx 12:00 noon). Please bring a picnic
lunch.
As you are aware, beyond Junior Church we do not provide anything for our 11 - 16 age group, and with the support of the Church I am planning to start a youth group, aiming to provide a weekly meeting
involving a schedule of games and events (such as getting together to play rounders/football etc to meeting on the beach), plus using the Rock Solid format for occassional meetings to structure some fun and learning.
For more information you can check on http://www.yfc.co.uk/resources/rocksolid however I will provide an overview on the day.
The invitation is open to all (adults, children and teenagers), and
although the Rock Solid is aimed at 11-14, I will be opening this up to anyone at secondary school, and on the day any age can partake to see what will be on offer when they are old enough.
Any questions, feel free to contact me via email - haylingurcyouth@yahoo.co.uk Many Thanks Paul Junior ChurchOur Junior Church Meet every Sunday morning
after joining in the family service for half an hour. We Learn about Jesus' Teachings in a fun way, we participate in Dramas and games along with lots of other activities such as arts and crafts.
Exciting news 1st Hayling Island Girls' Brigade Company will be starting on Sunday, 28th February, 2010, at South Hayling URC, 3.30 - 5 p.m. Girls' Brigade is a worldwide Christian organisation catering for girls from the age of 4 years. It has a four square programme covering spiritual,
physical, educational and service activities, with the emphasis on having fun! Barbara and Lizzie Hemsley
will be leading the company and will be looking for volunteers to help us deliver badgework. Depending on the type of activity, this might involve coming into Brigade for half an hour on one or two
occasions. Please let us know if you would be willing to help in any way. Initially we will be
aiming our advertising at girls of infant and junior school age, although we will happily accept older girls into the company. If you have neighbours and friends with children between the ages of 4 and 10 years
please tell them about Girls' Brigade and give us their names and addresses so we can send them a personal invitation. Please pray for this exciting new outreach opportunity. Barbara Hemsley 023 9246 6146bahemsley@yahoo.co.uk |
